Why Spay or Neuter?
Spaying and neutering are safe, effective procedures. These procedures not only help reduce pet overpopulation and prevent unwanted litters but they also provide significant benefits for your pet by helping to avoid medical and behavioral problems down the road.
Neutering is the general term referring to either a spay in female dogs or castration in male dogs. A spay, otherwisw known as ovariohysterectomy, is the complete removal of the female reproductive organs ( the uterus and ovaries). Castration, which we commonly call a neuter, is the removal of the testicles. Spays and neuters are the most common canine and feline surgeries, accounting for half of all surgical procedures performed each year.
