Rutherford Animal Hospital

Welcome to the Rutherford Animal Hospital! At our hospital we strive to give your pet the most comprehensive medical care in any situation. In addition, we pride ourselves on being compassionate and understanding. Armed with the latest technology, we can diagnose (using x-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy, MetRx vet scope, and blood work)and treat all conditions within one facility. In addition, we offer acupuncture and acupressure treatments in conjunction with traditional medical therapies.

Also at our disposal, is a state-of-the-art dental department, complete with an intra-oral digital x-ray system and the latest diagnostic tools. Our veterinarians and certified dental technician will perform all the necessary dental procedures (from simple extractions to root canal therapies)to make your cat, dog, rabbit or ferret have a healthy mouth. Our pharmacy is fully stocked to aid in your pet's treatment. We also offer a full line of natural supplements. In addition, we can turn your pet's medications in a specially flavored liquid. This makes medicating your pet less stressful for them and much easier for you. We also carry a full line of Hills foods including all their therapeutic Science Diets, as well as other prescription diets. We also offer high quality foods for birds and ferrets. Consult with our knowledgeable veterinarians to find out what diet is best for your pet. Exotic pets are welcome at RAH. Our vets are trained in current avian and exotic procedures. Your winged friend, reptile or pocket pet will enjoy a comfortable stay in our specially equipped exotic ward.

At Rutherford Animal Hospital, our emphasis is on disease prevention! We consider the annual/biannual exams the most important thing you can do to keep your pet healthy. At this time we will check all body systems, make dental and dietary recommendations and discuss any diagnostic tests that may be necessary. We strongly advise that all pets be vaccinated with distemper and rabies according to the recommendations of AAHA and the AVMA. No animals will be admitted into the hospital without current vaccinations.Other vaccinations and yearly preventative health measures are recommended and will be discussed with you by a member of our healthcare team. Whatever your pet's health problem, we at RAH are dedicated to making your companion healthy, in a caring environment, with the least amount of stress possible.Remember a healthy, good quality of life depends as much on you as it does on us. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about procedures, medications, fees, alternative approaches or anything else that comes to mind. We encourage your participation in your pet's health care. Welcome Again!!
